About Our Charity Event

My name is Steve Hughes, the host of the Air and Space Force Association’s Wounded Airmen and Guardian Program (WAGP) Charity Golf Tournament.
I am a retired Air Force Chief Master Sergeant and a 100% Disabled Veteran. The Air Force and associated organizations have taken care of me and my family for 48 years, and I have chosen the WAGP to support, having personally raised nearly $30K for them over the last 3+ years.
This is year three of our now “annual fundraiser! Last year’s tournament raised just about $4000 and this year I hope we can do a little better!
The great thing about this fundraiser is that 100% of the proceeds go to the WAGP! Any prizes or extras are funded by sponsors or donated by others and myself. Our volunteers do a great job helping to make this event enjoyable for all and successful in its goal! We learned a lot from year 1 and hope to be even better this year.

About The Course
Inverness Golf and Country Club
Inverness Golf and Country Club is the proud host of our 2026 Wounded Airmen and Guardians Program Charity Golf Tournament. This scenic semi private 18 hole course offers the perfect blend of challenge and playability for golfers of all skill levels. With five sets of tees ranging from 4,380 to 6,194 yards every player can enjoy a rewarding round. Designed by Bill Campbell in 1960 the course features Champion Bermuda greens, lush fairways, and water hazards on seven holes that add excitement and strategy to your game.
Before you tee off you can warm up at the driving range or putting green. After the round the welcoming clubhouse is the perfect spot to relax, enjoy a meal, and share stories from the day. Inverness Golf and Country Club is more than just a course. It is a friendly and well maintained venue that provides the ideal setting for our charity event.
